Group Psychotherapy in Parker, Colorado

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time. Southeast Christian Counseling Center periodically offers various therapeutic groups. Some of the past groups we have offered have included adolescent groups, divorce recovery groups, and cancer survivor groups. Here is a list of our current groups and upcoming groups.

Grief Group (Coming Again Soon)

Who: Adult men and women struggling with grief and loss.

When: TBD

Where: Online via Zoom and then transitioning to in-person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: Education about grief, coping skills, support, resources for spiritual guidance and integration surrounding grief, and strategies for managing stress and healthy living while working through the grief process. This is an open and ongoing dynamic and supportive group environment for healing from loss. There is some limited availability for new members to join. A new session of grief group will begin in the summer for those looking to start with all new members.

How much: $30 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

Adolescent DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) Group

Who: Adolescent girls ages 12-18.

When: Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 PM.

Where: In-person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: This group covers DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills such as emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, coping with anxiety and depression, safety, and self-esteem. Relationship themes are also explored including family, friend, and romantic relationships to learn healthy ways to interact with others.

How much: $35 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

Parenting Group–No Drama Discipline

Who: Adults parenting children from newborns to teens.

When: Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 PM.

Where: Online via Zoom.

What: No Drama Discipline. This group will provide valuable information about healthy parenting techniques across the development continuum. Parental stress management will be emphasized as well as effective strategies for managing common and complex child behavior. Trauma will be discussed as it pertains to parenting considerations.

How much: $30 fee per week for singles and $50 per week for couples, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

Addiction Relapse Prevention

Who: Adults battling substance and process addiction including but not limited to alcohol, drugs, gambling, gaming, and internet/technology.

When: Mondays 6:30-7:30 PM.

Where: In-person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: The stages of change will be highlighted as well as creating comprehensive relapse prevention plans. This group will include a combination of educational material and a group process that supports one’s desire to make healthy changes. Note: This is not an AA group but resources for support groups will be provided.

How much: $35 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

Men’s Domestic Violence Group

Who: Adult men.

When: Thursdays 1:30-3:00 PM and Mondays 4:00-5:30 PM (Online).

Where: In-person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: This group will meet DVOMB requirements for court-ordered domestic violence treatment as well as support for those in the community that are concerned about their behavior at home. Tools will be presented for self-management, and there will be a focus on the DVOMB core-competencies. This group will provide members with a supportive environment to grow and make healthy changes for themselves and their families.

How much: $40 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.
Domestic Violence Evaluations cost is $125 (post-sentence meets standards for DVOMB requirements).

Women’s Domestic Violence Group

Who: Adult women.

When: Mondays 8:00-9:30 AM

Where: Online via Zoom.

What: This group will meet DVOMB requirements for court-ordered domestic violence treatment as well as support for those in the community that are concerned about their behavior at home. Tools will be presented for self-management, and there will be a focus on the DVOMB core-competencies. This group will provide members with a supportive environment to grow and make healthy changes for themselves and their families.

How much: $40 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

DBT Group for Emerging Adults

Who: Co-ed emerging adults ages 17-25.

When: Tuesdays 4:00-5:30 PM starting September 5, 2023

Where: In person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: This group will follow a DBT curriculum with some process and practical life skills woven in such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills.

How much: $40 fee per week and an initial 30-minute phone screening of $30.
