Group Psychotherapy in Parker, Colorado

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time. Southeast Christian Counseling Center periodically offers various therapeutic groups. Some of the past groups we have offered have included adolescent groups, divorce recovery groups, and cancer survivor groups. Here is a list of our current groups and upcoming groups.

Adolescent DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) Group

Who: Adolescent girls ages 12-18.

When: Contact Stephanie for information.

Where: In-person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: This group covers DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills such as emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, coping with anxiety and depression, safety, and self-esteem. Relationship themes are also explored including family, friend, and romantic relationships to learn healthy ways to interact with others.

How much: $40 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

Parents of Teens

Who: Adults parenting teenagers.

When: Contact Kim at kim.mason@secounseling.org. Begins in June, 2024, for 6 weeks. Mondays 5:30-7:00 pm.

Where: Southeast Christian Counseling Center.

What: Join other parents to discover ways to better communicate and relate to your teen. Discover real-life answers to your everyday struggles.

How much: $300 ($50 a session per family) for six weeks of group.

Grief Group

Who: Those who are grieving the loss of someone or something.

When: Contact Shannon at shannon.pannel@secounseling.org. Begins in July, 2024. Wednesdays 9:00-10:30 am.

Where: Southeast Christian Counseling Center.

What: Grieving the loss of a loved one, a dream, a marrage, or something else? This supportive group dynamic is a safe place to process your loss. Grief doesn’t go away but our experience of it does change. Learn the tools to help you on your journey. You don’t have to walk alone.

How much: $40 per session.

Addiction Relapse Prevention

Who: Adults battling substance and process addiction including but not limited to alcohol, drugs, gambling, gaming, and internet/technology.

When: Contact Stephanie for information.

Where: In-person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: The stages of change will be highlighted as well as creating comprehensive relapse prevention plans. This group will include a combination of educational material and a group process that supports one’s desire to make healthy changes. Note: This is not an AA group but resources for support groups will be provided.

How much: $35 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

Men’s Domestic Violence Group

Who: Adult men.

When: Contact Stephanie for information.

Where: In-person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: This group will meet DVOMB requirements for court-ordered domestic violence treatment as well as support for those in the community that are concerned about their behavior at home. Tools will be presented for self-management, and there will be a focus on the DVOMB core-competencies. This group will provide members with a supportive environment to grow and make healthy changes for themselves and their families.

How much: $45 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.
Domestic Violence Evaluations cost is $145 (post-sentence meets standards for DVOMB requirements).

Women’s Domestic Violence Group

Who: Adult women.

When: Contact Stephanie for information.

Where: Online via Zoom.

What: This group will meet DVOMB requirements for court-ordered domestic violence treatment as well as support for those in the community that are concerned about their behavior at home. Tools will be presented for self-management, and there will be a focus on the DVOMB core-competencies. This group will provide members with a supportive environment to grow and make healthy changes for themselves and their families.

How much: $45 fee per week, includes curriculum materials sent electronically.

DBT Group for Emerging Adults

Who: Co-ed emerging adults ages 17-25.

When: Contact Stephanie for information.

Where: In person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: This group will follow a DBT curriculum with some process and practical life skills woven in such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills.

How much: $35 fee per week and an initial 30-minute phone screening of $30.

Spirituality Processing Group

Who: Adults 18 and older who seek a safe community to talk about sensitve aspects of their faith.

When: Tuesdays, 7 pm to 8:30 pm.

Where: In person at the Southeast Counseling Center.

What: Do you have doubt in your faith that you can’t share with others? Have you experienced hurt from other Christians or the Church? Are you questioning the meaning and purpose of life? This group will help process your doubts and hurts.

How much: $35 fee per session.
