Douglas County Government Again Honors Southeast Counseling’s Therapy Subsidy Program with Philip S. Miller Grant!
November 19, 2024 – The Douglas County Commissioners, in collaboration with the Douglas County Community Foundation’s grant review process, awarded Southeast Counseling Center a Philip S. Miller grant to make mental health services available to community members who are uninsured or underinsured. Alongside other nonprofit organizations that provide crucial services to those in need, Southeast Counseling is honored to receive much-needed supports for mental health services provided to those residents living in the gap between typical community assistance programs and self-sufficiency. Thank you Douglas County, Philip S Miller Foundation, and DCCF for your diligent work stewarding these resources for the benefit of our community, and thank you for investing in organizations like Southeast Counseling, where we work daily to support the cultivation of hope and wholeness!
We are Jumping for Joy! Southeast Counseling Center is Now Accepting Medicaid Clients!
Friday, September 13, 2024, proved to be a day with good news for Southeast Counseling Center and Colorado Access Medicaid members. We were approved by Colorado Access to service Medicaid members in Douglas, Denver, Arapahoe, Adams, and Elbert counties. This dream was a long time coming. We used to grieve having to turn away so many who came to us looking for our help just because they fell into a certain bucket. We have now scheduled our first client with Medicaid! No more having to turn away Medicaid callers. Another barrier to our mission of providing high-quality psychotherapeutic services to children, couples, and families in need was removed. That is something to celebrate.
Parker Chamber Foundation Awards Southeast Counseling Center Grant to Support Therapy Subsidy Program
May 1, 2024 – Our mission is to support mental and relational health by providing high-quality psychotherapeutic services to children, couples, and families in need—and specifically to remove barriers to that necessary care! One of the greatest barriers to care in Colorado is the cost of services—with or without insurance. That is why we continue to grow our Therapy Subsidy Program every year, which provides hundreds of financially subsidized sessions every month to community members who find themselves in the gap between self-sufficiency and qualifying for government supports like Medicaid.
This program is made possible thanks to the support of community partners like The Parker Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation (PCF), which has generously awarded Southeast Counseling a 2024 Community Grant specifically to make more therapy services possible through the subsidy program!

Miller grant to make mental health services available through our ever-growing Therapy Subsidy Program. Alongside other nonprofit organizations that provide such services as medical care, shelter, senior supports, food, and more to the most vulnerable in our community, Southeast Counseling is honored to receive much-needed supports for mental health services provided to those residents living in the gap between typical community assistance programs and true self-sufficiency. Thank you Douglas County and DCCF for your diligent work stewarding these resources for the benefit of our community, and thank you for investing in organizations like Southeast Counseling, where we work daily to support the cultivation of hope and wholeness! All funding from this grant will directly provide subsidized mental health services to those in need this holiday season!
Douglas County Community Foundation awards grant for continued Mental Health support!
October 25, 2023 – In Douglas County and across Colorado, hundreds of thousands are living in the “Medicaid Gap.” These are individuals and families who do not qualify for Medicaid and similar supports but who also do not earn enough income to pay for all of their basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, transportation, healthcare, etc.). In fact, in Douglas County, the gap between qualifying for Colorado Medicaid and meeting the self-sufficiency standard for a family of four is $80,000! That’s where Southeast’s subsidy program comes in.
In July and October, Douglas County Community Foundation has graciously awarded Southeast two grants to support this important program which provides financially-assisted services for those living in the gap! Thank you, DCCF, for partnering to make mental health more accessible, and thank you for entrusting Southeast Counseling with these resources!

January 24, 2023 – As you may know, Southeast Counseling is dedicated to promoting mental and relational health by providing high quality therapy services. What you may not know is that we are also a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to removing barriers to necessary care for individuals, couples, and families in need. In fact, we are able to provide financially-assisted mental health treatment to several hundred clients every month thanks to the generous donations of our community partners.
In December, Douglas County Community Foundation graciously awarded Southeast a grant specifically for providing financial assistance to clients in need from our community, and those dollars are in action, today, making quality services available to those in financial need! Rotary Club of University Hills awards Mental Health support grant!
March 1, 2023 – Our subsidy fund is growing! Last month, University Hills Rotary Club graciously awarded Southeast Counseling a grant for expanding financial assistance to individuals, couples, and families in need. Those dollars are already making more quality services available through subsidized therapy in-person in Parker, Colorado, as well as online. Thank you, Rotary Club, for partnering to make mental health more accessible, and thank you for entrusting Southeast Counseling with these resources!
